Julie has over 10 years of experience working with adults, adolescents and children with a focus on relationships and family concerns as well as depression and anxiety.  The therapeutic focus of therapy is not only working on coping with difficulties in life, but building a positive sense of self for the achievement of future goals and aspirations.

Mrs. Holgate’s clinical experiences include specialized work with children and adolescents, helping them to learn necessary communication and problem-solving skills to promote successful moments in life.  Julie’s clinical proficiencies include behavior modification, developing healthy and productive social skills and integrating these changes to all areas of their life including home, school, and their social communities.

Julie enjoys working with couples on issues related to developing a stronger partnership in marriage.  Issues that relate to a weakened partnership range from difficulties with fidelity, financial struggles, health concerns, or sexual dysfunction and others.  Couples therapy takes a strength-based approach to building necessary communication and problem-solving skills for marital harmony.

Additional areas of clinical proficiency range from daily life stressors to working with issues of substance abuse, trauma and crisis intervention. Julie has extensive experience working in crisis based clinical settings working with issues of self-harm, suicidal ideation and stabilization of unsafe behaviors

Mrs. Holgate believes that therapeutic techniques should be tailored to the specific needs of each client with integrated concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-centered therapy, theoretical focus on the ‘Here and now,’ and Family Systems Theory.
