Mel Brezovsky, LPC, NCC


Mel Brezovsky, LPC has a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount
University and a Master of Science in Management from the Polytechnic Institute of NYU. She
understands the challenges of balancing a stressful career and personal life.

Mel is a certified Imago Therapist and provides couples counseling in a safe structure that is
intended to allow clients to take risks needed to build a better version of their relationship.
Clients come to couples counseling for a number of reasons; they often want to improve
communication; develop more transparency and disclosure after an affair; create a new
dynamic in their relationship; and sometimes for help breaking up. Imago Relationship therapy
is an Attachment-based therapy that focuses on reducing conflict while rediscovering ways to

Mel has training in and experience treating Perinatal Mood and Anxiety disorders. Anxiety
and/or depression during pregnancy and the first year after birth affect 1 in 5 new or expectant
mothers and their families. Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are caused by changes in
biology, physiology, environment, and expectations. PMADs are temporary and can be treated
with a combination of self-care, social support, talk therapy, and medication if necessary.

Strength-Based Therapy is the approach that allows Mel to guide clients to focus on internal
strengths to deal with stressors. She looks forward to working with clients to help them
become less attached to a negative point of view, and capitalize on their strengths.
