Nhora Rosero-Fricke received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Valle in Cali, Colombia, where she worked for over 10 years in  private practice. Nhora provided individual and group counseling services to clients experiencing  a broad variety of emotional issues.

Nhora is bilingual in Spanish. She has worked at Catholic Charities in Montgomery Count, MD, for 8 years as a Family Support Specialist. She has extensive experience working with a diverse community, providing crisis intervention services to low-income clients and new immigrants.

Nhora believes that advocating for clients and taking an active role in social issues is crucial in the counseling profession. For that reason, she started a Parenting Program for Latino families 7 years ago. She manages and conducts this program with the belief that empowerment is fundamental in the process of helping clients to overcome their challenges and to achieve their goals. She coaches parents in areas of conflict resolution, communication issues, and engagement with their children's' schools.

As part of her involvement with the community, Nhora is a guest on Radio America, a Spanish radio station in Wheaton, MD.  Once a month she discusses different topics of interest for the Latino community, such as: parenting skills, communication skills, assimilation and acculturation process, empowerment and resilience.

Nhora is currently a master level intern in Atlantic Counseling Group. She is  working on her Master in Mental Health Professional Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands, KY.

In her work with clients Nhora incorporates the existential framework with different theories and techniques. She works with clients at their own pace, respecting their uniqueness, with the goal of helping them to discover their maximum potential.
