Alex Fleche, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), has more than six years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and families in individual, group, and family therapy settings. Through his extensive experience, Alex has come to believe in the inherent value and worth of all individuals, and the incredible ability of all people to persevere and thrive in the face of great challenges.
Some of the issues addressed with his clients are relationship difficulties, mood symptoms like depression and anxiety, life transitions and challenges, managing life stressors, family relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, and trauma. In his work with adolescents, Alex’s clients often address family and peer relationship difficulties, mood symptoms like depression, anxiety, irritability and mood swings, trauma, school anxiety, stress and avoidance, bullying issues, feelings of not fitting in, and self-esteem/self-image difficulties. Alex also works with teens’ parents to help them gain the support, guidance, and tools they need to best support their children.
Through talk therapy, Alex works with his clients to help them better understand and identify what in their life is contributing to these problems. Using the most proven effective strategies for addressing these negative experiences, Alex helps his clients to feel more satisfied about themselves and their life, to enjoy things they used to or never have before, to feel more effective in their relationships and school/work, and to feel able to manage and master life’s stressors and challenges more effectively. Therapy modalities used include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), brief solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and meditation, Bowen family systems therapy, reality therapy, and person centered therapy.
In his work with clients, Alex is committed to treating each person with the dignity and respect they deserve, to listening to and understanding their experience, and to supporting them in learning and discovering ways to live a more satisfying and rewarding life.
Alex Fleche earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Philosophy in 2004, and a Master of Social Work degree in 2010, from the University of Pittsburgh.
