Beatrice Craiu, Psy.D., received her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with Emphasis in Marriage and Family from Pepperdine University and her Doctorate in Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. She has worked in schools, private practice, detention and residential centers. She has completed her internship at United Stand Counseling Center providing treatment to Chicago youth for various problems including learning disorders, stress, conflict, violence, and challenging life transitions.
She completed her residency at the Astor Services for Children and Families, a residential program in Rhinebeck, New York, providing treatment for behavioral problems, trauma, developmental and learning disorders. She has conducted psychotherapy groups for grief and loss, anger management and domestic violence. In therapy, she is concerned with finding the best strategies to life’s challenges and the benefits of flexibility and taking risks.
She often utilizes evidence-based and short-term approaches such as cognitive-behavioral and acceptance and commitment therapy. Her areas of special interest and training include anxiety, stress, relationships, grief and loss, and domestic violence. Teaching has been an early and consistent interest. She has taught psychology courses to graduate students at Argosy University and undergraduate nursing students in Virginia.
