Karen Riccardi has a Master of Education degree in Counseling from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years experience working with adults, adolescents, and children in a variety of treatment settings including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community mental health.

Karen works with children, adolescents, adults, and families struggling with challenges such as depression, anxiety, loss, self-esteem, relationship problems, substance use, and job-related stressors. She strongly believes in the power of the therapeutic partnership to help uncover the strengths and resources everyone possesses in order to bring about desired changes. Karen helps individuals realize their strengths and empowers them to overcome their challenges by changing the way they think and respond to those challenges. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Techniques, Solution Focused Therapy, Strength Based Therapy, and Mindfulness into her practice.

In addition to her counseling degree, Karen also has an MBA and Master of Science in Healthcare Management from Marymount University. She has worked in various consulting and administrative roles for various healthcare organizations. She understands that there are many job-related stressors out there and provides career coaching to help individuals succeed in their workplace.

Karen’s focus is to create a safe, supportive and trusting environment in which individuals can explore the issues and challenges they face and feel empowered to live their best life possible.
