Michelle Capozzi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). Michelle received a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from La Salle University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from George Mason University. Michelle is passionate about helping people improve their lives through recognition of their strengths and potential. Michelle emphasizes the process of building a trusting relationship with her clients while implementing a warm, comforting, and non-judgmental approach. Michelle’s primary mission in her work is not to treat disease, but rather promote wellness.

Michelle has a wide range of clinical experiences, including working with children and adolescents in residential treatment to develop problem-solving skills, improved communication, and coping strategies to manage stress, trauma, and disruptive behaviors. Michelle also has experience working with all age groups in acute hospitalization with issues such as depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and self-harm.

Michelle will tailor her approach to meet the needs of her clients, but will often utilize a combination of therapeutic techniques, such as motivational interviewing, coaching, psycho-education, solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and art therapy.

Michelle is a competitive distance runner and ran Division 1 cross country and track in college.
