When human beings experience trauma or severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. My great passion is bringing healing to people who have been through a traumatic/stressful experience. I help my clients, who include children, adults and families, to find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can know themselves as peaceful, complete, whole and safe.

I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual, and so I use a range of modalities using both long term and brief client centered therapeutic interventions. I incorporate Family Systems Approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior therapy, as well as, play therapy, mindfulness, and coping skills to address your specific needs as the client. I have extensive knowledge of child, development, behavioral difficulties, adolescent issues, ADD, couples work, family systems - including the dynamics and challenges facing military families.

My educational background includes Masters of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and earned a B.A. in Psychology with an emphasis on Early Childhood Development from the University of Northern Colorado. I currently hold a LCSW in Virginia. I am a member of the National Association of Social workers and am Board Certified in Special Education Program AASEP.
