Sally Harney is a master’s level graduate student at Marymount University in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. She received her doctorate degree from American University in Sociology, specializing in gender, work, and family. She received her Master’s degree from California State University, Los Angeles, specializing in gender norms and deviancy. She received two Bachelor’s degrees from Texas Christian University; one in Psychology and one in Sociology. Her counseling training has included human sexuality, grief and loss, crisis assessment and intervention, and family therapy.

Sally is open to working with individual, couples, and families. She has a special interest in gender identity, sexuality, anxiety, depression, cancer, grief and loss, LGBTQIA+ concerns, relationship issues and trauma. Sally will pull from various counseling theories and techniques to tailor to the needs of the individual. However, she brings a foundation of sociological theory into the session to provide a broader perspective to personal issues.

Sally is a kink aware counselor and her personal pronouns are she and her.

As a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern, Sally receives supervision under a Licensed Professional Counselor.
