Substance Abuse Groups
Substance Abuse Groups for Adults/Phases Program
Atlantic Counseling Group offers substance abuse groups for adults 18 and above either by referral through county corrections or private referral. Initially, groups meet twice a week either midday or in the evenings during Phase I of the group. Clients graduate into Phase II after maintaining their sobriety, attending 12 groups with minimal absences, attending AA/NA groups twice weekly and working through the first step of the AA/NA program. In Phase II, clients attend our group once a week but they are required to participate in three AA/NA groups outside of the group. In addition, they talk about maintaining sobriety and creating a relapse prevention plan. Clients are also required to get an AA/NA sponsor and they occasionally bring support people to the group to assist with their recovery.
Groups are provided in two formats: funded through the county and through private pay or insurance.
